America Founding Fathers Party of Colorado

Below are some of the documents that helped make America great. We have included the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution for obvious reasons. But we have also included a couple of other documents that we feel had a powerful impact on the values and moral character of this Great Nation. We recommend that you read these, even print them out, so you can keep them in the forefront of your mind as you consider the direction this country has taken over the last hundred years.

Description

Declaration of Independence

This was the document that started it all. It defined the primary purpose of all governments as being the protection of the safety and rights of the people. It also said that when governments no longer live up to those purposes, that it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to re-create a government that would once again live up to the purposes of government. Back then, this concept was called freedom. Nowadays, this concept is called domestic terrorism. Go figure...

Constitution For The United States of America

It was called the Constitution FOR the United States of America because it was created FOR and not BY the central government. The Constitution was created to limit the central government. It was not created to limit the States or We the People. Over the last 100 years, it has been used by the central government to limit the States and We the People. And this happens only because We The People allow it. Read it, understand it, and then practice it. You would be surprised how much that will piss off the government!

Bill of Rights

The Bill of Rights comprised the first 10 Amendments of the Constitution. They were considered so sacred that they were made retroactively part of the Constitution with the proviso that they cold never be altered. Some of the Founders didn't want them added because they were afraid that, if listed, then the central government would try to find a way to re-define them or violate them. Nah, government wouldn't do that!

Give Me Libery or Give Me Death

This is Patrick Henry's incredible speech that called real Americans to Arms against the British government. It is considered by many to be one of the most inspiring speeches ever given. If you haven't read it, then you need to. It was originally called "A Call To Arms."

Not Yours To Give

This is a great story by Tennessee's own Davey Crocket, when he was a member of the United States House of Representatives. If the House would take this speech seriously, there would be no need for the America First Party. But since neither the House nor the Senate seem to care about the Constitutional issues discussed inthis speech, then it seems that the AFP is absolutely necessary.

On the Duty of Civil Disobedience

This is the famous dissertation by Henry David Thoreau on the duty we have to disobey unjust and unconstitutional laws. Where justice is being violated, Thoreau claims that Americans have no duty to obey, but, in fact, have a duty to disobey. Thoreau believed that to obey an unjust or uncontitutional law is to tacitly endorse that unjustice. Read it and decide for yourself how you should respond to the many ways in which our federal government has exceeded its constitutional limits.
